Night of the Living Dead

1. Royalty Fee: A royalty fee of $85.00 per performance must be paid in advance to John Faust. This fee applies regardless of whether the performance is for charity or profit, and irrespective of whether admission is charged.

2. Definition of Performance: A performance is defined as any instance where the play is acted before an audience. Rehearsals attended solely by the cast and production crew do not constitute a performance.

3. Script Requirements: Each cast member must have their own physical copy of the script, which must be purchased from the author or the author’s agent. Copying or reproducing any part of the Play is a violation of copyright law.

4. Transferability and Copyright: The performance rights are non-transferable. Any performance conducted without prior permission constitutes copyright infringement and is punishable by law.

5. Script Purchase and Notification: Copies for perusal and for licensing agreements of Night of the Living Dead or Nosferatu are available on Amazon. Amazon will notify the author upon purchase.

6. Reserved Rights: All other rights, including professional or equity performance, TV, radio, film, videotape, and recording, are reserved. Fees for these rights are available upon request. Additionally, rights for UIL, Festivals, Competitions, and Conventions will be quoted upon request. Streaming rights are available as an optional addition to your contract.

7. Program and Advertising Information: All programs, playbills, and advertising materials for productions must include:

  • The full name of the play and the playwright.
  • Any additional notices provided at the time of licensing.

8. Name Change Notice: As of September 2019, the author’s name has changed from
John F. Carroll to John Benjamin Faust. This change will be reflected in future editions of the plays. Author credit on advertising must reflect this name change (i.e. credited as John Benjamin Faust or John Faust).
